2000-05-26 - 2130 / current mood: I just had wicked good pizza(guess where I grew up) at Sylvia's on the down-town mall. Fresh mozzarella. Unfortunately, they are the only really good pizza place in Charlottesville. That's what I miss about Boston, there are awesome pizza places all over the place. Anyway, I went to Fridays after five, which I wrote about a few entrys back. The weather was perfect, clear, mid 70s. It was packed. I went to the grassy area where the band plays(Beatle cover tonight), and I saw two girls I worked with. It was great to see them, esp. since I was alone. They wished me luck in the SICU, and had to leave to go to a bridal party. I sat down and started to read my book, and it felt surreal to look up, previously engrossed in my book, and see all the people en masse. I felt like I was in a parallel universe and no one could see me. I couldn't concentrate so I walked towards the down-town area and sat a little while--I love to people watch. I finally waited in a long line at Sylvia's, but it was worth it. I feel much better I hadn't eaten all day. On the way home I saw a bumper sticker that annoys me---Kill your television. Oh, I understand the premise, you instead could be reading the complete works of Shakespeare, finding a cure for AIDS, the children left to watch violence, and junk.......But, there is alot of very informative, educational, and lets not forget good comedy on t.v. It's up to the person to moderate not the t.v. Speaking of comedy, when I came home I turned on the t.v., and TBN(trinity broadcast network) was on. Talk about comedic genius WITHOUT even trying. There is a couple that hosts the show, and Tammy Faye Baker doesn't hold a candle to the the wife(Jan). She has huge lavender hair, and if I am not mistaken there are two wigs on her head. The makeup. I am at a loss for words, you would have to see it for yourself. She looks like an 80 year old woman trying to look 40 and doing a bad job of it. The couple, and the rest of the cast are like caricatures of people, they cry, and carry on, give speeches, etc. Comedic genius I tell ya. God. I need to get out more.
